有學生發現校方把那個罪犯給『神格化』，還畫了一幅畫像擺在法學院門前展示，認為這是褻瀆神明、搞偶像崇拜等作為，完全不符天主教的教義，雖然發起了連署請願活動要求拿下這幅畫像，但是校方裝死到底。

有趣的是偶像崇拜是新教徒對天主教會的指控之一。
