「佛洛伊德之死」引起全美至少30個城市暴動，各地激烈份子開始出現搶劫、放火燒屋等暴力行為，甚至有大批示威民眾包圍白宮，要求政府正視種族歧視，為此華府一度進入封鎖戒備狀態。沒想到事發8天後，再度爆出警察殺黑人事件，徹底點燃群眾的怒火。

根據《CBS》報導，肯塔基州路易斯維爾近日正上演大規模示威，官方動員國民兵驅散抗議人群，警方宣稱有民眾持槍攻擊，因此開槍還擊，不料射中53歲的大衛•麥卡迪（David McAtee），中彈後倒在路邊，沒人將他送醫救治，最後不幸慘死街頭，曝屍長達12個小時之久。

事件曝光後，激起群眾熊熊怒火，相關單位也緊急介入調查，不過涉案員警聲稱，在執法時沒有將記錄器開啟，因此事發經過完全沒有畫面。市市長費雪（Greg Fischer）表示，「這是不能容許的錯誤」，路易斯維爾警察局長康拉德（Steve Conrad）為此慘遭開除。

據悉，麥卡迪是一名烤肉攤老闆，他生前十分熱心公益，不求任何回報，還經常提供免費食物給貧困的民眾，就連當地警察也不時受惠，沒想到最後卻是遭到警方開槍擊斃，陳屍之處還就在他經常擺攤的地點，相當諷刺，全美各地仍持續暴動，不少地區都傳出災情。
