路透社報導五角大廈將要求媒體簽署協議不得擅自曝光未經美國政府核准發佈的消息。
違反者可能遭取消記者證，新聞業痛批這將嚴重侵犯新聞自由及扼殺獨立媒體。
戰爭部表示即使是非機密軍事消息也需要獲得相應主管單位許可之後才能發佈。
