The Show
There's a reason why Band of Brothers earned so many awards and so much acclaim. It takes the amazing true story of heroes and honors them by showing the bonds that were formed in the darkest of times. ..... Don't miss it.

Video
A good majority of the series is presented in a similar style to Saving Private Ryan. Intentional grain, subdued colors, and heavy filters make up the gritty look to this WWII drama, and aside from some very minor edge enhancement; the transfer handles all of it excellently.
Blacks are perfect, rock solid. Contras is well balanced, as it's neither too high or to low. There are no compression problems that pop up, and as expected with a new show such as this the print is pristine. You want detail? Wait until you see the two episodes that take place in the snow, with the almost three-dimensional appearance that the falling snowflakes gives to the image.

Audio
...Either way you hear it, you couldn't really ask for more.
Quieter moments of dialog come through crystal clear...General ambient sounds such as the sound of troops preparing for departure in the background or vehicles rumbling over the terrain come through pretty well, although it isn't quite as enveloping as it could be.

...there areplenty of battle sequences for you to enjoy the DD and DTS mixes in. From the early standoff on "Day of Days" where bullets whiz by your skull to the thunderous bass of the explosions in later battles ("Carentan" has some good ones!) the audio here doesn't disappoint.

...the Dolby and DTS mixes .. are actually pretty equal, so those fans of either format who were looking for a war between the two on this disc has best look elsewhere as both sides have excellent sound mixes.

The Extra
...ten episodes ... are spread across five discs in the set, ...the sixth dedicated to the special features. However, each episode includes an interactive field map that features timelines, maps, and soldier profiles to give more detail on that part of Easy Company's story.

On disk 6,
...The 80-minute documentary "We Stand Alone Together: The Men of Easy Company". This special originally aired at the close of the mini-series on HBO and is an excellent bookend to the ten-part epic. Featuring vintage war footage and never-before-scene photos, the documentary includes interviews with the real men of Easy Company as the recount their memories of WWII.

...The twelve-part "Ron Livingston's Video Diaries", which chronicles the experience making the mini-series from the point where he is cast through the "boot camp" that the actors were put through. Each video can be viewed alone, but there is a "play all" feature as well.

...Two semi-promotional featurettes in the 30-minute "Making of Band of Bothers" and the "HBO Entertainment News" special on the premiere in Normandy. Also, if you want to know a bit more about Easy Company, there's a "Who's Who" that includes video about each member.

...Missing from the actual discs with the episodes, each trailer is included in a show index. Normally, trailers aren't that big of a deal, but these are edited together so nicely that they're worth watching.

...a little Band of Brothers-themed Jeep commercial, a photo gallery, and some DVD ROM links.

Yup, looks like DD and dts will sound very similar

但是最近大家的胃口都被 Blade II, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Monsters Inc.魔戒加長版, Starwars II 養大了吧

應該會有粉多人會去 Amazon.ca 砍單吧...

DD and DTS quality equal!?

我是持懷疑的態度~~:p

評論的人的意見只能當作參考, 否則, 如何說服人去相信壓縮較少的DTS僅是和DD打平;

就像是 mp3 和 WAV (CD-audio)之爭, 您如何說服我相信 mp3 會好到跟 WAV 一樣的品質!?

唯一可能就是原母帶音效本來就差, 但是, 這個例外並不發生在 BOB 上...

這真是個重要的消息,像我這種在觀望的應該有決定了

同意!對於這點我也持保留態度!

聲音這種東西是很主觀的 , 況且我覺得那評論者講的太含糊 , 說不定器材沒調好也不一定,我覺得還是R1比較保險,畢竟字匣可以後補,dts可沒法兒...:shy:
