Celebrity-backed nonprofit shuts down after being sued for helping release serial offender who shot Las Vegas waiter 11 times 由多名加州演藝圈明星、名流成立的非營利組織The Bail Project，專門在美國各地為犯人交保釋金，但是卻從不過問這些人犯了啥罪被逮捕。這組織在去年年底保釋了一名『慣犯』，結果他獲得保釋出來後六天，就向一名中國餐館的華裔侍者連開11槍，少說有七槍是嚴重到足以致命，還好這老兄命大熬過來，現在他向這個組織提告，誰知道這個組織就被嚇得宣布關閉運作，表面理由說是要組織重整。  其實這個組織就算真的全面關停也沒差，目前已經有幾個州先後通過法律，全面取消保釋金制度，其中以伊利諾州最『進步』，明年一月一日開始全面取消，讓極大多數的罪犯可以不用交保，就可即刻獲得釋放。
